Father Pedro Opeka received on October 29th 2015 in New York the highest award conferred by St. John’s University entitled “Spirit of Service Award”.
Our Cause is Noble, Great and Powerfull and should match so well her new destiny.

We thought the time to live in the 3 meters on 3 meters wooden houses was a forgotten one at Akamasoa.
10 years ago, in 2006, we prepared a big meal with thousands of people to celebrate the destruction of the same type of wooden houses, and their replacement by stone houses.
It was 10 years ago.
Because increase of poverty, by hundreds families are coming from the street knocking at our door.
Against our will, we see ourselves forced to return to these “Wooden constructions” by lack of finance. What a pity.
What achievement since 1989 when Father Pedro has seen this crowd trying to survive on the Trash of Antananarivo, Capital of Madagascar. Behind the dust, behind the cry, he found humans in the most extreme poverty. They were raped, kill, starved and despaired. They were lost on the Road of Life. This Road was leading them inexorably to disease, to their non-existence, to their own denial and there death.
Father Pedro, this man, this priest, this Argentine missionary who is in Madagascar for over 40 years has become the symbol of resistance to poverty.
He knew not to accept poverty as "hopeless", yes he thought contend "implacable"
