A CONTAINER RELEASED,

AN APPEAL THAT MUST NO LONGER BE IGNORED

Press release — Humanitarian action in Madagascar · September 2026

A CONTAINER RELEASED,

A victory won on the ground

Despite growing problems at the port of Tamatave with shipping lines and port authorities, despite delays that grow longer every day — increasing our financial costs and, in turn, penalising our humanitarian aid — and despite a change in the terms of financial responsibility of our partner Orphan Grain, we succeeded in getting our container out of the port’s financial trap.

A financial trap that will, without doubt, have consequences for our future actions.

Support that makes the difference

The Akamasoa Association of Father Pedro helped us, and we thank them warmly.

Our customs agent, Ecar Colis, carried out its mission, and its manager, Mrs Léontine Rahazania, was exemplary in her personal contribution to our action.

Father Emeric and Bishop Alfredo Caires de Nobrega were, for their part, able to step in in areas we could no longer cover ourselves.

The concrete result of this fight

250,000 meals will finally be distributed to those most in need.

That was our goal.

The path on which we ask you to walk with us

Through these actions, we try each time to show you the path on which we need you to walk with us.

AN APPEAL THAT MUST NO LONGER BE IGNORED

We have called on you several times to recognise the current situation following the cancellation of USAID funding.

But our call went unheard.

My calls used to be spoken, and this time I wanted to sing them.

Look, and listen…

But you do not understand what my words mean.

It is exactly the same as with my previous calls.

You do not understand them.

You do not hear them.

A situation that is worsening

The current situation has become very serious, and everything is converging towards an acceleration of humanitarian needs. Remember the forecasts made after the cancellation of USAID: over the next five years we will see more than 15 million deaths, most of them children.

RESPOND. JOIN US. AND WE WILL BE ABLE TO ACT.
